Dang, I think if I was a President-elect, I might opt out with all the bad news we're seeing.

What a shame,

Cannot get credit, bank troubles

cannot buy a car, cannot get credit, automobile troubles

cannot keep auto plant open, cannot sell cars,

cannot order steel, no cars to manufacture

close steel plant for a while, no business.

no such thing as trickle down.

who is gonna buy any mickeydees burgers when you are laid off, or fix up your house, sorry Home Depot and Lowes, gotta lay off some people there.

Linens and Things, GONE, bankrupt

Circuit City, in deep doo doo

hmmmm, sarcastic Carol is on the loose again.

Sorry folks, are we in trouble yet??

Hey, no trouble here, the Ford pension check is in the bank this month.

Yep, sarcastic Carol thinks she might have a reason to be worried. SIGHHHH

And sarcastic Carol is praying hard for all these affected by the trickle down layoffs, God save us.

Carol (and others) - sarcastic in my mind is AIG asking for, and getting, an additiona 25 to 30 billion dollars and then having another big bash for their execs and sales staff --- oh excuse me -- the press reported that 'most of that' was paid for by outside clients. OK, where is that Arizona Beach front property?????

And what gets me this afternoon as I'm reading this is that our legislatures see them coming, doing this, and they still give them more!! The wife and I want to know where we apply for our bail-out funds!!!?

Deb always tells me to shut up & stop always giving your opion to people that don't ask for it, and she is right, But...If AIG doesn't solicite, wine & dine outside financial advisors & agents to sell AIG product, another company will, and if they independents start selling the other product, AIG is in a mucho badder financial position. Nothing starts until the sale is made. The way of all business and T&E is greater for the biggest.
I will shut up.

It is a HUGE, horrible, scary, difficult, complicated MESS.

Kind of scared me was a report I caught on the Pres elect's reaction when he was briefed on some of this, and a reaction was, that, geee, this is mucho worse than we thought it was. This is not meant to be a political statement, but a reflection of how big this monster is. Seems not many people, even those politicians, know how bad it really is. NOW THAT is scary! GULP

For me the point is that this is very serious and most of us cannot possibly understand the scope or the complexities.

OKKK, I am off to do some volunteer stuff, and pretend the world is all rosy and wonderful. Feels a bunch better than my sarcastic angst filled posts.

After that, I am gonna go do a bunch more prayers, for everyone, world wide.

I am orginally from that area of KY. My dad helped build that plant when it was called ARMCO steel. Now my uncle is loosing his job after 30 plus years there.

Skypilot, when you find out where we apply ,please let us know so we also can get some money that we do not have to pay back. I would call the sarcastic proceeder a insult to our intelligence. Do they really think we are that dumb?????

If we have to have a dark room; let’s at least have it in our Monty’s!

This is my hometown. It's a relatively small city, and a layoff like this will devistate the place. Almost everyone in town has somebody in the family tha works (worked) there.
