Bad storm on South Padre...

These pictures were taken during a bad storm with 50-60 mph winds, imagine twice that.

They're taking a battering down there OZZ. My son's ex-MIL lives just north of Port Isabel. He talked to his EX today and her mom has a flooded home; no power. I spoke with friends that live in Port Mansfield earlier today. They are on their way back from VA. Luckily, they took their travel trailer with them. Don't know what will await them at PM.

We packed up and were ready to pull out. We found a lot near DW's work in Rockport, and went ahead and moved yesterday evening. I'm setting here looking at Aransas Bay; man is it rough.

I'm in Knoxville, Alabama (Yup! AL) Heading home to Texas City, TX, 40 miles South of Houston and 14 miles from Galveston. We have some pretty severy storms here at this time. We have been monitoring Dolly. Don't like that crap. DW said cat 2 is not bad and I replied, what about Hanna? Any category hurricane coming in our direction and I'm hooking up and leaving town.

Will, glad to see you are safe. If you get up around our way, give a holler.

Here is a shot of Aransas Bay, just across the street from our RV. The bay is pretty wide, and gets pretty choppy.

Here's one of Lighthouse Inn. One of the nicer places around here. Pricey also. That's where DW is employed.

This is the neighbor's palm trees. Might give you an idea how the wind is here.

We are headed down to work tomorrow. Depending on how busy I get I will try to post how things are down in the Brownsville, Padre Island, Harlingen and surrounding areas. Hopefully we can get down without problems.

We had a saying around the Clear Lake area. "If you wait until you know it's going to hit you, you waited too long." It is better to feel silly because the storm didn't come your way than to tread water.

Hope things are better than you fear they might be.

We weren't too concerned when we just had a lot in McAllen. I expect we will get updates on our Park Model sometime today. They are getting lots of rain. But, I guess that's why you get insurance.

Slickwillie; where are you camped in Rockport? We were there in February and loved the area. Our campground
was out of town-and would like to find something closer in if possible, but with a fair sized space. Didn't seem
to be too many of those available. We were also at the lighthouse while we were there. Neat place.

IF you pull up Yahoo News, right now, they have a slide show on the storm, there is a Wilderness upside down, on the roof, bout slide 23 or so, I have not viewed entire slide show, YET.

Our prayers for those affected continue.
