My previous TV was a '94 Chevy 2500 with a 350 gas V8, and we towed a 7000lb GVWR travel trailer with it. I put in an electric fan with a thermostat and took off the belt driven fan in order to get some more power. Worked fair driving solo but didn't do the job when towing the trailer. One of our first trips with that set-up was to Mammoth CA from Los Angeles. Going up a very steep grade it really started to overheat. Luckily, I had an idea that this might happen so I had brought along the belt driven fan and everything I needed to put it back on. After that, I left it on, and used the electric fan as additional cooling only.
