Gonna post this here too, hotwater heater question

I posted this question in another section of the forum, then thought I better ask here too! Anyone got the answer????

So, here we are sitting for 5 weeks, and after 1 week we notice some water leaking from the hot water heater. Do we have a missing in action "air bubble"??? IF, so, what is the quick and dirty fix for this situation?? Just unhook the water service and let some water out of the faucets, or do we need to drain a little out of the hot water heater via the pressure relief valve in the hot water heater?? OR WHAT???

Thanks for hints!!!
