Water pump

Where is the the water pump located on the 2008 3400RL Sounds like it is under the stairs ??? Mine seems louder than normal and has a rattle to it , like it is not secured tightly, anyone had a similar problem, it is first time that it has been used. Seems to pump water okay. Thanks

Try looking behind the convenience center. Yes, it should be near the stairs.

Some folks have "dampened" the noise by making sure tubing is not against the walls, or if so that they are fastened down, or wrapped the tubing in the gray insulating foan tubes, the pump is properly bolted down, etc. Some folks have remounted the pump on carpet and even on a computer mouse pad (an innovative bunch of folks here).

The only way to get to the pump is by removing the large white piece of metal that is in front of the laundry basket and behind the convenience center in the basement. Don't be surprised when you see the mess under there...water lines, electical wires, etc sometimes I think we are lucky anything works.

Thanks for the help, I found it. Yes that is quite the mess back there.I found where the noise was coming from real quick, some of it was the plastic lines hitting where they went thru the holes in the wall, and some of that was because there was still a little air in the lines, and making them jump around a little.Things got a little more quiet after I run the air out of them, but still a bit noisy I am going to insulate a couple of the lines that seem to be making the clatter. Thanks again for the help

If you find a good solution, please post it. My pump sounds like a B-29 taking off, and I have insulated/isolated the lines, padded the mounts, and everything I can think of.

Insulation, etc helps to some extent, but the biggest improvement we made came from installing the silencer kit that you can buy at Camping World (and other places). It is an electronic device that slows down the pump to match the flow demand. Makes a big improvement. Costs around $60-$70. I was able to install ours myself, but that may depend on the way each unit is plumbed and wired.

I'm with Scattershot, it's really loud. I have installed foam insulation over the tubing, where it hits against anything. It will still raise the dead. Next I'll try rubber mounting the pump, no easy job in that tangeled up area.
