Here in Pahrump, Nevada diesel has gone up 20 cents per gallon in the past 3 weeks to $3.29.

As a rule, I don't make an effort to check fuel prices unless I am ready to fill the tank...why give myself something else to stress about! I did, however, notice that at one station in Tampa today the price for diesel was $3.09. It is better in this area to get fuel away from the freeway...those stations near the freeway usually charge more.

They jack around with the price here on gasoline all the time. I would like to see it find a place and stable out where a person could at least have some idea of what it may be a few days from now. However, that’s not the real world and they recently raised the diesel here to $3.159/gal. Something doesn’t seem right to me since diesel in my thinking takes way less refining. For Pete’s sake I wish they would at least drop the .009 off of the price of fuel. That may have worked when it was .30/gal but now it’s a joke.

The price is fueled by world markets and the rise and fall of the dollar against other currency. It also has to do with our governments drilling policy.

I'm of the opinion that if we have to be worrying about fuel prices we should not be living this lifestyle. We just calculate fuel prices into our cost of living and then forget about it. Sure, I like fuel prices that are lower, but when I need fuel I just stop and get it, primarily at Flying J or Loves. But I needed fuel in Texico, NM on Monday so I just went to the nearest station and filled up. Only cost me $100.

I am not worried about it, doubt if many are, it's jut interesting and informative to know what the prices are around the country.

I am sure there are a lot of people in the current economy who do have to "worry" about the cost of fuel...to buy food or fuel, what a decision. For those of us who are fortunate enough to not have to worry about the difference between 3.09 or 3.59 for a gallon of fuel, we should count our blessings. Like Ozz, I too find the flux in prices for fuel around the country interesting.

Orv, You must have stopped by to visit LonnieB. As I recall fuel was $2.89 a gallon at the station closest to Lonnie's tire store when I was there last month.

Fuel was $3.59 per gallon in Paso Robles, California yesterday.

I had never heard of Texico, New Mexico until I met LonnieB in this forum. That is such a cool city name with a great ring to it.

Orv's need to refuel there and LonnieB's post in another topic kinda line up since LonnieB was impressed with Orv's Big Foot Levelers because he saw them in action.

Okay Orv, fess up, did you need tires?

What's up with the fuel prices? When they go up THAT much and THAT fast, it's the difference between choosing to eat out or eat at home and now that choice is taken away because of an unexpected and probably unnecessary elevated price jump. That's the problem.

Ahh, Parker. Isn't it beautiful there? Try the hamburger and fries at the barge on the Colorado river. I imagine I am preaching to the Choir We miss it there, are you staying at Parker?
