water line particles

We traveled from home to Aransas Pass today and when we stopped to use the bathroom I noticed little black particles coming out of the water line into the toilet. When we got here I ran water in the vanity sink and again there were particles in the water. I put the stopper in and captured some of these. Looking through a magnifying glass they look like little pieces of very thin plastic. Like very thin garbage bag material. Our trailer is right at 2 years old. Never seen this before. Could these be some kind of liner in the plastic lines? Could it be algae? We use a filter canister where water connects to trailer. It has a throw away element in it we change periodically that is ?microns. Anyone ever experienced this problem? Thanks for any help.

It could possibly be carbon from the filter. Did you change it recently? Generally you're better off to flush the filter first till clean water comes out before hooking it up to the camper. I learned this the hard way. Good luck

Agree with the filter source, and the reason you flush the filter when installing, to get all the dust out before connecting.

X5. The filter would be where I would look first.

Well, sounds like the crud I pulled pout of my check valve, it was black plastic from something like a garbage bag, don't know how it got in there, but it was plastic.

Ozz- Are you talking about the check valve at the city water hook-up that holds trailer pressure when using pump? It appears this came from fresh water holding tank. On the road we only used toilet and vanity. When we hooked to city water and used kitchen and bathtub there were no particles. I am draining fresh water tank now. In the summer we stay at RV park at Taylor Park, CO and their water is spring water. Maybe got something in fresh water tank there. I did put water in tank prior to leaving there in August.

I was just commenting that anything at any time can end up mysteriously in the tanks. Usually from the factory.
