Leaking Roof
Have a roof leak over the bed and it is dripping down along the wood weather strip located about 18 inches from the closet doors. I'm thinking it is coming in through the TV antenna and following the wires to this area. When it finally stops raining here in the mountains of NC I'll get the Dicor out and start sealing.

Not good. Some of those leaks are sure hard to find. Might be just about anyplace, above the height of the actual drip. Good luck in finding it before something gets ruined, besides your pillow.

Tim, check around where the Antenna Coax goes through the roof. The boot on the coax tends to ride up and allow water to enter. I know it's been posted on here before as to the source of a leak.

Tim,when looking at the antenna from the roof,there is a rubber boot over the cable where it goes into the trailer. If the boot is not on all the way it can leak inside the trailer. Fill the boot with silicone and push it down tight with the antenna.

That rubber coax boot is the first place I'm going to look whenever these downpours quit and the roof dries. Thanks for the feedback.

x2 - had the same type leak over bed in our old trailer and it was the rubber boot.

You're right to check both while you were up there. This summers heat caused a large crack to form in whatever they used to seal the antenna down with. Luckily I noticed it when I was up there for something else.

Got a leak from the bathroom Fantastic Fan and a bit of water got in at the back of the main slide in addition to what was reported originally. I think a trip to my local CW for roof and slide maintenance is on my schedule for next week. These rains are the heaviest, other than a hurricane, that I have experienced in years. The river along the east side of the Down by the River CG here in Pineola, NC is really rolling along its banks right now!

be sure to check the caulking where the front cap attaches to the roof. Another possible source.

If these suggestions don't work, many dealers can pressure test your Monty, and this usually pinpoints where the leak is by showing bubbles on the outside of your rig.

Tim, Had the same problem. Two years ago when we were @ the Fall Rally, Montana rep told me to use self leveling caulk around the top of the coax boot. Did and it hasn't leaked since.

Put silicone sealant on it today and will follow-up with a good covering of self-leveling caulk when I get home.
