New Dodge recall

How many are affected by the new Chrysler recall involving Dodge Ram trucks. Looks like years covered are 2008-2012 ?

Pretty big recall involving 500,000 vehicles. Something with the steering that they are unable to repair at this time so they're doing s buy back.

From what I read owners will have the option of a buy back or continue to try to get repairs made. But repairs have apparently been troublesome so far.

With a buy-back, this excellent time to get that new vehicle. John

With the buyback program you will have to pay for the miles you have on the vehicle, hope you have low mileage

Here is a link to the best information I was able to find so far on this recall: https://www.cars.com/articles/chrysl...1420680933813/

Sounds like if the repairs have been done then your truck is not eligible for the buyback. The biggest issue with this steering recall was/is that Chrysler issued it, but then dealers could not get the parts to do the fix. We waited over 7 months for the parts and had the fix done. So as I read the article in the link above, we would not be included in this buyback program because the work has already been done. Guess I will wait to see if we receive a notice in the mail.

Jack

Mostly trucks in the 4X4 area I didn't see anything for the DWD 2X4 I was hoping for a new truck I have under 46K on my 09 3500 Ram it would have qualified for replacement it was under 50K BUT such is life, I really did want to have to start buying that Citain crap which increases the cost of maintenance and fuel when added together.

Checked my Vin# on the link provided by jackel1959 and looks like I will not be on the list for the buy-back DANG IT!!! I had the recall for the steering problem done on my truck. Sure was hoping for a larger down payment on my new truck I have on order!

I have a phone number for those interested in calling,
Recall Assistance Center 800-853-1403
they will ask for the last 9 numbers of your vin and look up your vehicle.
I will be keeping my truck it has no issues.

Never mind Scott, I found the answer in another post. Congrats! Hope you get it soon. We are still trying to figure out how we can stop on the way through either in October or December.
