Hi everyone! Just found this site through rv.net. My husband and I live in Long Island, New York. We own a 33ft Montana Mountaineer 04.
We bought it last summer down in Virginia and we love it. My husband is a Sergeant with the NYPD and I'm a kindergarten teacher. We are leaving this week for a 5 week vacation. We are so excited!! Our rv is parked in front or the house and puts a smile on our face everytime we look out. Glad we found this site! Will be visiting everyday!

Welcome to the forum Melissa and Jeff.

I know what you mean about looking out the window. Mine sets right by the house connected to power and with slides out. It is between our bedroom and the neighbors Pit Bulls so I think it is secure.

When I am not cleaning it, I go out and sit in it.

Happy to see you posting so soon.

Thank you all!! We are leaving Thursday for Cape Hatteras for 10 days than we are coming home for 2 and leaving for the month of August. We are going to Maine and Cape Cod. Been to the Cape but never to Maine. Has anybody been? Maybe you can give us some tips. We are staying in Bar Harbor and Kennebunkport. We are looking forward to Arcadia National Park. Heard it's Beautiful.I already found some useful tips on here. We also have those day/night shades and I hate them. One already broke but my husband fixed it. That's about the only thing I don't like on the 5er.Bye!

Hi Melissa & Jeff, Welcome to the forum. We live in MA and know both the Cape and ME very well. You'll love the Bar Harbor area. If you're bringing bikes with you thats a great way to do the park. I believe you can rent them if not. Our favorite area up there is Camden and the islands in the bay north of there. If you get a chance to go there you might enjoy it.

I've been to Maine quite a bit and to Acadia Park. It is very pretty there. My brother is a locksmith at Searsport. I go there in the winter to ski, he comes here in the spring to play golf.

Welcome aboard, as we are new to forum as well. Have picked up looks of good information regarding Montanas. Good group of people to sound off ideas with. If you are having certain problem chances are some has already been there and done that and have a fix for you. Happy travels. And welcome back to NC on your vacation to Hatteras.
