Buffer

Does anyone still use a buffer to buff off wax?

Yes, a great tool to help you wax or use rubbing compound.

I use DriWash n Guard. Spray it on wipe it off, it Cleans, Polishes, and protects! And it WORKS! I became a believer when I started using it to clean a Semi when I was a truck driver. Order it online from DWGinternational.com use pin 173077

The orbital buffer cuts my time about in half. Love it.

Old style buffers can cause a lot of damage if you do not know what you are doing. Todays dual (DA) action polishers are almost idiot proof. Like a porter cable xp2474

When is South TX or Ehrenberg, AZ, I usually pay someone ~$80 to wash and hand wax the trailer and truck. I do not need any kind of buffer. LOL!

I just carry a couple of micro fiber towels. makes quick work of polishing dry wax. I need to keep my "girlish figure", so I hand wash and wax my own fiver / truck. Burns off the candy bars I consume.

I use a 2-3 pound Harbor Freight random orbital buffer to apply the wax using a foam pad. There is a little residue that you just wipe off with a towel. You do need to be careful using it, keeping the pad moving at all times. No pressure beyond holding it against the surface. As far as the pads, whatever brand you use, you need to be aware of what color is needed as they go from compound to swirl remover which is the one I use for wax.

I used to wax with Newfinish twice a year and maybe 3 or 4 times on the cap. It did a great job and I loved doing the work myself. But DW won't let me Climb on ladders anymore so I have someone else do it once a year and the cap twice a year.
