Slide Pump

I was checking the batteries and looked up at the hydro pump and noticed a small puddle of fluid in the tray. The day before I ran the slides in and out and than closed a couple of valves and open two of the slides separately. Looking closely I can't see anything that would be leaking,is there a overflow somewhere? I've never seen any leaks since we had this trailer,a year and a half.
With all of the slides closed, where should the fluid level be?
Also, what kind of fluid should I use?
Thanks!
Jack

Jack rather than go into the details, go to the search engine about and key in slider pump. You'll come up with quite a few threads with the same problem and even tell you what to use for the fluid. Good luck and hope you figure out the problem!

jjflash... the manual will say 1/2" from the top of the reservoir when the slides are in. The manual also says Type A ATF (automatic transmission fluid) but good look finding it. According to other members they use any type of ATF like dexron, mercon or similar which are similar to Type A which is also what I use. The other major type is Type F but I have no experience. In summary, pick a cheap tranny fluid and fill it up to 1/2" from the top.

Rondo's suggestion will show many other similar posts of this information. But it should be in the manual for your RV is you look under "slide operation and maintenance". If you don't have a manual, on this MOC forum is posted links to manuals and you'll have to look around for that, too.

Use cheapest Dexron/Mercon ATF per Lippert and our dear friend MIMF (former Lippert guy!).
