Xtreme Plumbing Vent Help

We have a 2007 3585SA Monty. I want to put an Xtreme Plumbing Vent on the black tank vent pipe of our rig. If anyone with that Montana year/model has installed one of the Xtreme vents on a vent pipe, I'd like to know if you had to use the coupler kit or if the new vent worked without having to use that coupler.

I can go up on the roof of our Montana and see how much pipe is exposed so I'd know if I need the coupler or not, but my darling son has my tall ladder at the moment, and because he's in the middle of calving, it may be a week or more before I see him or my ladder.

My God!! How tall are your son's calves??? I've never known anyone to need a ladder to calf. You guys must grow some pretty big animals up there.

NCFishers, now THAT is a good one, a real good one!

You'd think that Scott, who stands 6' 7" without his boots and hat, wouldn't need a ladder for anything, but apparently he does. Hate to say it, but the way calving is going on the ranch this year, he might need that ladder to get over the piles of animals he's lost from the exceptionally severe weather and wolves. Spring calving this year has been nothing but rough.

So, with that in mind, your joke was just what the doctor ordered!

Installed 3 on our 2004 and just stuck them on and used screws. No couplers.

I used the coupler on my 05 Montana, I think the issue was the amount of vent pipe sticking up after removing the original cap was too short.

Thanks for the various answers. I think the best route for me is to wait until my ladder is returned (Do you hear me, favorite son? ) and get up on the roof to see how much vent pipe is available after the original cap is removed.
