Info on Punta Gorda, FL
Can anyone give me some input on campgrounds around PUNTA GORDA, FLORIDA. My brother and his wife are in an assisted living home down there. Need to go see them in April. Thanks...JB

There was an older one on the Peace River about 5 miles from town - stayed there a few years ago, but the hurrican made a mess of it - I think they probably rebuilt by now - check your Passport America book if you are a member of that - I know there is another one on the other side of town heading toward Ft. Myers - also in the Passport America book at that time - little pricier, tho - you shouldn't have too much trouble after April 1 - good luck!

www.riversidervresort.com It did get destroyed but is back up and running. It is a nice place to stay. We were there the end of May and we didn't have any trees so it got a little warm. They have added alot of new sites. It's roads are all paved.

We are at Watersedgeresort now and it is a great park. Clean as it can be. The people here are very friendly. We can't take a walk without saying hi to everyone.

Nothing of help for me to add, but wanted to say we vacationed in this area (Rotunda) last Feb and just loved it. Even going to the grocery store, people were so friendly and actually seemed glad to see you.
I've been trying to get my DW to make a return trip with our RV and also interested in good places to stay around this area. I would actually consider picking up some property.
It seems this happens most every place we vacation...we want to move there.
