Stargazing session - Montana Owners Club

Have you ever wanted to learn more about the stars? Do you have a telescope but haven't used it a lot? Bring it along to the Rally and come to the Stargazing session in the small tent on Friday from 2:30 to 4:00 for an introductory presentation on observing the night sky.

Hopefully we will get some telescope viewing in some night during the Rally.

The session will be presented by our own amateur astronomer Dave Burtrum.

Dave gave us a sample of his great knowledge of the use of a telescope and looking into our universe while we hosted the MOC Central Plains Regional Rally(CPRR) this last June and we saw things we would never have thought about seeing in the night! Don't know if he is bringing his telescope to look at the sun but I did to our Rally and he showed some of the attendees there some of the sun spots and the solar flares that were going on at that time. I personally did not get to see the sun but the night session was great! I highly recommend anyone interested to attend his session on Friday of the Rally and take in some of his knowledge! Hey Ron,

I plan on doing a solar observing session as well as some night observing while at the rally. The scopes are already packed. We are headed that way starting Weds this week.

The night of September 27th, there will be a total lunar eclipse for us to view as well. Hoping for clear skies to see the blood moon!

I checked out the site postings and saw we will be neighbors for the rally. I would love to come over sometime you have your telescopes out and take a look.
