Into the furnace

It was so nice in upper western Montana. Very cool nights and mild days, clear skies, and beautiful green scenery. Then there is Bowie, TX, brown, hot, bland scenery and did I mention, HOT (103 degrees). After pulling all day, when we set up, it was 99 inside the unit. We have been running both A/C units for 4 hours and it is still 88 degrees in some parts of the trailer. It could well be called the Great Texas Furnace.

Yep! Welcome home. You might get it down below 80 before daylight and you may want to stay hooked up and keep it cool. Of course, getting on the road in the TV is sometimes cooler. My problem is hooking up. I'm soaking wet by the time I'm ready to roll, and I will leave the electricity on sometimes just so I can shower in the Hanna. Other times, I'll get everything ready to roll and take a shower in the CG Facilites if they are nice. About the time I put my travel clothes on I'm all wet again. As the French say, "Suckes," prounounced SOOKAAYS.

Welcome to an unusual summer. We are now at the 42nd day of triple digit temps. Our thermometer currently reads 109.4 (in the sun) and the a/c is running non stop. But Eduorde(sp?) is on his way to cool us down!!! We sure could use the rain.

Stiles,

We're in western Montana (Hungry Horse) right now, and the temps have been pretty high, close to 90. Right now it is up to 75!

Robbie and Alice,

Whoa! You sure know how to hurt! We seldom see 75 even at night! It has really been hot here in the Central Valley. Can hardly wait till we get up on the OR coast. In the meantime you guys enjoy your HOT weather!

See you later.

Dennis,

Alice and I have a deal. 85 is wonderful, when it gets to 86 we head North. Well, without crossing international borders, we'll just have to suffer sitting here until it cools off.

BTW, 69 right now at Hungry Horse, MT.

Yeah, I know. Hungry Horse is where we were when we had to head South.

Missoula to Lewiston along the Lewis and Clark Trail, Highway 12 is sure spectacular. Lots of great boondocking and cool weather. This morning before leaving we woke up to 44 degrees at 6:00 am.
