hershey rv show

We are planning on heading to the Hershey RV show this coming September. Has anyone bought a rig from this show. We have purchased RVs at shows before but are wondering if prices are good at this show since it is so large. Any info would be helpful. Thanks

It is a great place to buy one ,it cost the dealers big bucks to rent space at those shows and pay all the employees etc... they are looking to make that cost up and that means VOLUME!! I bought a new one at the Tacoma RV show last year and got a great deal and my buddy just bought one at the same show last week and he did well also,as a Owner of a Knife company I have done ALOT of trade shows and it is expensive to get and run a space for a few days, How to we justify the cost??? Exposure of new models for future buyers AND get people to open up their wallets NOW (preferably)

We have been to several Hershey shows and a couple of ones before it moved to Hershey when it was called the Harrisburg show at the old Ag center. We bought our first SOB RV at the Harrisburg show back in 2004 and got a great deal. We went to last years show to check out the new Montana's and saw great deals as well. Going to these shows over the years you can expect to see the new models loaded with all the options possible at deep discounts like BigSky said. On average you should see between 25 and 30% off the MSRP at a minimum.
We just went to show about a month ago and saw the 3900 FB model listed at $102,000 with a show selling price of $69,000 as an example.
The more shows you go to the more info you will get and the best day to go if you are going to buy will be the opening day to make sure you get what you want.

Good luck,

Les

We go to the Hershey show every year and bought our 3150RL from Camping world there and felt we got a GREAT deal on our camper.

Give it a try.

Bought my last 3 campers either at the Harrisburg Farm Show location or the new Hershey Park Giant Center location. Each time the price was at least 10% less than I could negotiate earlier with dealers. They tell me that the manufacturers contribute cash to sweeten the deals at large shows such as this. Its also pretty cool to get to see and touch almost every model available from every manufacturer at one place.
See you there on senior discount day.

Jaybird,

Thanks for the offer but we are only going on Wednesday this year but hopefully we get a chance to meet at one of the Keystone displays.

Safe travels,

Les

Hope to see some of our fellow MOCers at Hershey tomorrow. We will be there all day and cannot wait to see the new 'Tana's. I will have a black International hat cover my well polished head!

Les

We are here at Thousand Trails RV Resort Sit H37. Jerry and Sandy Robinson dropped when we pulled in. It was great seeing them. We are going by their site this evening and catch up on times.
Rondo: Fever what fever. lol. We are going shopping. There are still some things we will need for the new rig. We expect to get some good deals and we are
going to attend some of the seminars. Now we may have some time to check out the area. Not so pressed now.lol

Well we pretty are exhausted after going thru just about all of the high end rigs at the show today....
We started at the Keystone display where we spent most of our time and were quite impressed. Montana has put in play a whole new exterior finish instead of the standard white. It is an egg shell with new graphics. Nice touch.
The interior finishes are certainly improved with the cherry finishes.
Overall we tbought they are still the best bang for the buck.

We spent the day looking at all the campers at the show. It was stinking HOT. All the new 2014 Montana's area cream color now, no white. 3 or 4 Big Sky units, then about the same number of Montana's along with Mountaineer's and High Country's. DW liked the Montana 3725 RL because of the large bedroom slide where the washer dryer would go. And did I mention, it was STINKING HOT!!! We walked around outside from 10AM to about 2PM, then went inside to see all the vender's and their gadgets and to wring my shirt out because it was STINKING HOT.

But there was no WOW factor, so we came home empty handed. But we had a nice day out, except that it was STINKING HOT!!!

We did make a trip to Chocolate World for a few goodies and they melted, because it was STINKING HOT.
