Can anyone recommend a camping area south of Austin? We'd like to be close enough to drive to Austin to visit DD but we don't want to be in a city setting or an expensive rv resort. State or national parks,BLM,or COE land would be fine. We plan to spend a couple of months in the area,probably FEB and March. Please pm me. This will be our first trip south. Don't ask why we're going in Feb. Thanks.

We have stayed at Mckinney Falls State Park which is south of Austin, and enjoyed it greatly.
