Grate over burners

The grate (I hope that's what it is called) over our burners flakes each time we use it. It has from the first day of use back in July 2001 and still does with each use.

It is poor quality metal?

Bad coating?

Anyone else have this?

I don't. I think that you must have gotten a defective one.

My grate did the same thing in my previous unit and I had the dealer replace it under warranty.

Thanks....... I don't think they'll replace mine as it's a 2002 (but we bought it in 7/01). It flakes so much that we want to replace it so I will check out the mfg paperwork that came with the unit and see if I can buy one.
