I am sure you will be stopping at Leavenworth for a short time. We have stayed in Monitor Wa. at Wenatchee River County park and Lincoln Rock state park in Wenatchee. Both are nice parks. If your happen to wander off your path a little we will be Couer d' Alene next week for at little R+R.

If you like red wine, E Washington has some great wines. Too many to mention, but it is hard to go wrong. Red wine and dark chocolate go together just like love and marriage or travel and Montanas.

Seattle has lots of neat things, Pike street fish Market and the Space Needle and the museums on the grounds of the 1962 space fair are just a few of the things. yes Leavenworth is a must see--it reminds you of a German town. Bring me back some Applets and Cotlets

I drove 2 from Spokane to Cashmere and back. Nice drive and change of scenery. The drop down to Coulee City is great and some good Kodak moments. As stated a stop in Levenworth for some German food is a great idea too. The run east into Levenworth along the river is great.

Carol, If you decide to go Rt2 Leavenworth (especially at night) is a must as well as Grand Coulee Dam has a laser light show (2 hr.) with music at night and there are several campgrounds close by then on to Glacier N P and going to the Sun Road.
Rt. 2 takes you across the Cascades to apple country, wheat and Barley fields for miles in all directions then desert all in the state of Washington.

I think I messed everyone up. I see they are talking about taking hwy 2 across the North Cascades Hwy. My mistake...... That is a nice drive taking you thru Winthrop. There is a stretch going thru there where there is no services for about 80 miles.

Mt. Rainier is a gorgeous area to drive around.

If you are into movies, the High School (Stadium High School) that was featured prominently in "Ten Thing I Hate About You" is in Tacoma, practically on Puget Sound. And Mt. Rainier is visible from there. Quite an interesting building.

And my absolute favorite in the area, and possibly one of the most gorgeous sights I have seen anywhere, if you have time, drive up to Port Angeles and drive up to Hurricane Ridge in Olympic National Park. Here's a picture of the visitor center.

Loved Pike Market, the parks in Seattle are large and blackberries are at them all for the picking. Olympic nation park averages 101" of rain a year and is our only rain forest. Must see would be the Boeing production plant, see the biggest production facility under one roof. Many more things to do see and eat!
