Hey Everybody - Icehouse is back fulltime

To all our friends at MOC, Icehouse is moving back into Ellie Mae full time starting in August. Just got her all setup for the first shakedown run of our short summer season. At 5 1/2 years old, she still looks pretty good. For various reasons, we decided to once again move out of our stick house and back into the 5th Wheel. We are still in Alaska, but are no longer in Seward. We have found a campground open year round with services in Palmer. We are ecstatic to be downsizing and setting up deep winter camping again. And of course, catching up with our friends on MOC.

Welcome back, we watch the Alaska State Patrol shows, I have seen more of Alaska on that series than I have on travel shows. Beautiful country up there. Enjoy Palmer.

Good to see you back Icehouse. We wish you no major freezeups. In years past you were the best example for winter living in a Monty. You set the bar high.

Welcome back....your plan sounds great! What is the name of the CG that is open all year? Big Bear?

Welcome back! I truly hope that your adventures going forward pale in comparison to the trials and tribulations that we were all part of thanks to your extensive forum postings. But in the event that the blustery adventure continues, we stand ready to be enthralled yet again and hope that you will continue your postings as before!

Welcome back Tammy! and Bernie of course! Glad to see you back on MOC and we wish you the best in the months to come. We've missed your postings of your adventures up there. We have a past pastor that lives up in Palmer and I think he still runs the Food Bank there. If you get a chance to visit him tell him "Hi!" from Nebraska. Take care and hope to hear from you in the future!

Talk about being missed.... it's still early (at least here on the West coast) on May 21 of your post and we're already on the second page of "welcome back"s! Just because you set up in a stickhouse you didn't need to stay away.

Well... Welcome back! We'll be looking forward to your contributions of Monty life.

Thank you everyone! We are so excited we can hardly stand it! Even as much as I loved living in the Monty for those 2 years I never realized how much I would miss it when we moved out and back into a house. Wow! It got me interested in the small house movement. After looking at all these small homes on wheels that everyone is toting around we decided to pack up and move back into ours. We are currently house hunting, but aren't finding what we want to buy yet. So, instead of releasing the condo we're in we're moving back into our home! Of course, there's a real possibility that we'll get in the rig and decide to just buy land and stay in it!

BigBoomer, you are correct that Big Bear is now open year round. I believe this past winter was their first winter. We actually had our rig stored there the first year we were here. They are super folks! However, we are going to be living at Mt. View RV Park off the Old Glenn and on Smith heading toward the Butte. The views are amazing and it's not on the highway.
