Totally Awesome Dude!
I started washing the roof this morning. The next thing you know I was working on the sides. I had lots of yuk on the silicone. Earlier this year I bought some Totally Awesome from the Dollar Store "For a Dollar". I seem to remember reading on the MOC that if you put Totally Awesome on the Monty, rinse it off quick! I tried it and it worked pretty well but I don't want to go crazy with the stuff till I know it's safe. What advice or experience do Y'all have with Totally Awesome?
Thanks, John

Another reason to rinse, and to rinse thoroughly, is because Awesome has a citrus base to it and if it lingers, the next time you camp out the birds will try to peck through the roof to get to the fruit. Not a good thing.

Totally Awesome makes a car wash called Street Appeal Car Wash with Shine Enhancers it will not remove the wax and will give your 5vr some shine. Works in hard or soft water You can find it at the same Dollar store over in the limited car stuff area. For the roof use a mild dish soap.

All I have used is Dawn soap and water until yesterday. The only place I used Awesome was on the silicone around the basement door. It worked so well that I thought it might be too powerful and cause problems with the finish. I was told to only use wax on the end caps and only Dawn on the sides. I have some oxidation on the end caps. My plan was to look for a wax that will address the oxidation but not harm the decals. The sides have no oxidation and I think is Filon. The side decals are curling. It's beginning to look like I need two different types of wax. One wax for the sides and a different wax for the end caps. Am I correct? Should I use the Street Appeal on the ends and sides? Any other suggestions? Thanks in advance, John

I had gotten some of that a while back but then I chickened out on using it. I think I still have it somewhere.

The bottle the Awesome comes in has the recommended ratios to dilute it on the back. As stated, full strength, like Simple Green, will take off the wax.

So far on my '06 3400, the decals are holding up well. I had decals made for my truck and the guy doing it (been doing decals for 15 years, especially on RV's, located in Apache Junction, AZ) suggested I use either 303 or Protectall, no wax, just a protectorant. So that's what I do, I guess if my decals deteriorate over the years, I can either blame him or Burlington. I have nothing against Burlington, but it seems that replacing peeling Burlington Graphics with more Burlington Graphics is counterproductive.
It's like replacing the nylon shackle bushings with more of the same. Why not look for another manuf that would be willing to duplicate the current graphics?? These are just my wondering thoughts....
