Swiffer & 303

Found a neat way to apply 303 to the Monty. Purchased a "swiffer", one with extended handle, added a thin sponge under the cloth for softness.
Applied 303 using the "stream" nozzle, starting top to bottom in 3ft sections, then wiped dry. As the cloth became more saturated the less 303 was used. It only took me 20 - 25 min to do the entire unit. Of course it doesn't beat a hand job, but it is easy and not back breaking.
Do not use 303 on roof. Dawn dish soap only. Also, 303 does not work on windows.

Sounds like just the trick I have been looking for. While I have the extended sponge for washing, when it comes time to apply the 303 on the decals I have just used a rag. I like your idea better, thanks for passing it along.

Now don't slap my fingers BUT What is 303???. I have seen some post here where someone used 303 but I don't know what it is or where to get it??. Is it a wax or cleaner or what????? I like the swiffer things and use them to wash the ceiling inside and the walls that are too high for me to reach without standing on something. It works great for that. I buy the cleaner pads that have the cleaner stuff already on it, then if I need more cleaning power I just spray some orange cleaner on the pad and that gets the streaks off the ceiling.

Prairie Poodle 303 is an aerospace protectant that they use on the shuttles (at least that's what it says) It protects against UV and gives a real nice shine, also will take off some black streaks. I purchase it at a local RV dealer for 12.75 spray bottle, but it does come in bigger bottles. Use it on the truck and car. Easy to use, just can't get too much on as it will streak, you will know it. If using on the truck do not put on running boards....makes it very slippery

I use the 303 on all my decals and the front end cap. Really helps get those bugs off w/ ease, and dont forget protects the decals as well.

If one uses the 303 protectant does that count as waxing or do you have to use a wax over that? We've done nothing so far.

We wash the rig as needed w/Blue Coral (from Walmart) & 303 when we arrive at the campground and then again when we leave & head for home.
We also use the 303 inbetween washes if needed. At home we wash it again, plus 303 while it sits for the summer and then again just before we leave in October for Texas. The 303 seems to be not only a protector for the decals, but leaves the unit shiney and it does seem to repel most streaks. Try it on your truck you will be surprised how nice it looks.

mfoss,
I use the wash & wax on the coach first. Once the coach has dried, I follow the graphics around w/ a layer of 303. I am not sure if I am wasting my time and money or not, but it seems to help keep them from cracking and fading. My decals are starting to shrink this year, going to get some stuff to take that glue line away.

How do you get the 303 in the swiffer bottle? The cap on the bottle I looked at does not screw on or off.

Thanks
Ed

The swiffer head I use is just the "dust cloth" no bottle attachement.
I spray the 303 on the cloth or spray directly on rv. Use less 303 as the cloth gets wet.

I've always used 303 protectant on the dashboard, console, seats, etc..
works great and not greasy like Armorall. never thought about using it on the out side.

Doug,
While we were waiting for Laminators to finish polishing the area that they fixed, (remember we had a big bubble on the kitchen side of the Montana), they also "buffed & Polished" the "glue line" that was left over from where they had to remove the decal for the repair. We are planning on stopping by their shop next week, or maybe just call, to find out what kind of polish they use and also what kind of buffer they used. Mel has decided this is one more tool he has to have.

So, anyway, I think one answer to your question of how to remove the glue lines would be to buff it out. When we find out what they used, I'll let ya all know.

Folks I have heard so much about 303 that I ordered me some from CW. It arrived last night by UPS. I just did a complete wash and am looking forward to laying on a coat of protection. It has to be better and last longer than just plan old spray wax. Again, folks thanks for sharing a good idea.
