Three days and counting...
Well our long-anticipated transition to full-timing is three days away. The DW retires on Thursday and my last day is Friday. The house sold yesterday, the Model T is in storage, all the belongings are gone or stored (very little stored), and I think I have everything in place. We elected to remain Arkansas residents and rented a PO box from the UPS store which gave us a physical address for voting and driver's license. Last step is to change to FT RV insurance, probably Progressive, and I think we're set to begin our new season in life. Many thanks to richfaa who helped us secure a spot near Orlando starting in November, but to get there we spend time in Atlanta, Dallas, Little Rock, Colorado, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, N California, Las Vegas and Utah. First grandson is due early July in Little Rock so will probably make many stops there in the journey.

Congratulations, we made almost the same transition last Oct. We haven't regretted a minute of it.

We will be making the same change the first of September. Have reservations in Pensacola, FL for the month of December. Keep us posted on what we need to learn!

First rule of full timing, " take 1/2 as much clothes & twice as money" I'm not sure what I like more.... being retired, or the freedom this lifestyle provides. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!

Congrats on your new adventure! Just remember that now you are No Longer in a hurry to get anywhere.....So, slow down and enjoy the sights, scenery and each other!! You don't have to see or do everything in the first month! Have a GREAT time.

Well, we made it. DW had her last day Thursday and mine was Friday, then had a short farewell deal this afternoon. We're now at a COE park through Memorial Day and then the travels start. Thank you for all the well wishes and I really hope we get to meet up with some of you along the way. I'm very thankful for the forum which has helped us get to know our rig, fix the bugs, and given us some courage to take this step into the "Great Adventure". Glad we are doing it now rather than waiting until it's too late.

Congratulations and best of luck. Don't forget the CPRR rally in July in Nebraska and the RMRR in Colorado in September. Which leaves enough time to get to Goshen the end of September. Enjoy the journey.

Ron, would love to make the CPRR but we will be on baby watch with son and DIL in Little Rock during July, expecting our first grandchild July 2. We will be in Southern Utah mid Sept. to mid Oct. so may try to make the RMRR. Will investigate!

We have not forgot about your interest working Disneyworld. We will be sending you some Disney links to look over in the next couple of months. Noting exciting yet but Sept/ Oct is a good hiring season for Disneyworld. You just never know what they are going to do regarding seasonal employees from year to year.

What we enjoyed about being full time was our freedom to either plan weeks ahead of time and stick to those plans, or change everything and end up in a different part of the country. Of course we always ended up someplace in SW Florida for the winter.
Congrats and enjoy, sounds like you have everything planned out good.

Congrats and enjoy the ride! We made the leap in January. At first it was a bit overwhelming for us. The reality that this was "home" and how long did we really think we wanted to be without a permanent home base. We stayed in Arizona for the winter and just hit the road for the summer. Really happy to be on the road and enjoying the freedom.

Great advice! We had to cull through our clothes three times to be able to get them to fit in the closet. I'm doing a couple of weddings so have to keep the suits and a few professional outfits, but once we got the number down, we decided we will see what we use and what we don't after a year and then reduce again. Downsizing is tough!!
