Tide Pods for Spendide??
I use the Tide Pods for my washer in our house, was wondering if they would work in the 2100xc spendide. Any suggestions?? I usually use the lowsuds liquid detergent, but would be so easy to use the Tide Pods...

I use the pods in ours. Less chance of something spilling. Also use the Tide Booster pods with them for the whites.

When we got our new Splendide 7100XC I spoke to Splendide about the pods. They said do not use them on any of their models. They said they clean fine but that the problem was that they clog up the tubes because of the quantity of detergent in them. However, I have heard of several people using them successfully including Dick & Joyce. I use a low suds detergent but I haven't done as much laundry as Dick & Joyce either. So maybe my post doesn't help at all!

Do you put the Tide Pod inside the washer or where you put the liquid detergent? In my washer at the house, I put them in the washer.

I've been putting mine in the bottom of the washer, but now I'm going to be checking with splendide. If they tell me the same thing as Busy Carol I'll stop. I just emailed their service department. I'll post the reply.

We have not used them. My thinking is that the quantity of detergent in the pods is sized for a full size machine. But that is just me thinking again.

Your all correct, here is the answer from Splendide:
The possible problem with pre measured factory pods is that the amount of detergent may in fact be more than needed. They are made for home use for heavy duty large capacity machines at home, not compact appliances like the Splendide. This causes a build up of residue inside the machine and eventually will not get clothes clean. If you use this product is could also lead to lint build up in the exhaust system for dryer.

Thanks for clarifying with them Dick. Sometimes you will get a different answer on a different day from a different person. It is good information to know. They also recommended powder over liquid, something about liquid detergents tend to gum up the machine faster. I wanted to use the tide pods because of the convenience but some people have found really neat tricks for making it more convenient. I haven't done enough laundry yet for that.

Something I have tried and they seem to work pretty good is a product called Washeze..They are a 3-in-1 Laundry sheet that have the detergent, softener and static control all in one. They have the "he" low suds formula and work in all machines. For the Splendide you only use 1/2 sheet. Go to www.WASHEZE.com or go to a friends site that sells them also, RV Space Savers/ Collapsible Kitchen Products.

I thought the dryer-type sheets were also a no-no on Splendide's? I believe our stand alone dryer specifically addresses that.
