First Montana Road Trip Problem
Well we departed on our 3 week breakin trip on Sunday. First stop planned for KOA next to Dandy RV in Anniston, AL. Good thing this was our first stop because we learned rather quickly tht our rear AC would not cool. We purchased our RV in Dec and this defect went undetected due to cold temps. We purchased our Montana at Dandy so at opening time on Monday we were there to have it looked at. The good news is by 10:00am we had the diagnosis. The bad news the unit has to be replaced and they did'nt have one in stock. It should come from Atlanta this afternoon and hopefully we will continue on down the road a few hours. Best case is we are 1 day behind schedule.

At least it could not have happened at a better place. We were at that dealership last September in our quest for a 5th wheel. They seemed like nice people. Good lick on your trip.

As you said, the problem was there, but undetected. The location of discovery was providential. For that, one might be grateful and, of course, that it is under warranty. Happy RVing...........

I love it when things work out good for people. Many times I’ve had problems or been broken down and everything falls right into place. It don’t always happen that way but it’s nice when it does.

Sorry your trip was interrupted, but one day isn't terrible. I've said this before, Keystone will step-up when required- they took care of our roof in a jiffy. Enjoy the rest of your travels!!

Thanks to all. The owner of Dandy RV and the KOA stopped by our site this morning and said they would have me fixed and on my way later today. I hope so as our 10 month old grand daughter is waiting for us in NC.

We spent the night there last October on our way down to Topsail Hill. This is good information to know as we move up and down I65. Hope all goes well and you can get back to moving.

You were very fortunate that you only lost one day and can still resume. At least it sounds like you have two A/Cs and if you were farther along on your trip you'd just have to do without one of them but not a trip stopper. Big kudos for the dealer and KOA to work on getting you repaired and on your way. That's GREAT service! Dandy RV deserves to be commended and remembered by us Montana owners!
Our maiden voyage was a 5 day long trip near home and the fridge broke on the first day! Now THAT would have been a trip breaker if it was a 3 week trip. We bought an icemaker and turned our fridge into a cooler and we survived the rest of the trip. At trip end I dropped it off at the dealer who took almost 7 weeks to get it fixed. I'm never going back there, again, since they were boneheads. Good thing we didn't really need the trailer at the time and we did cancel a trip but it wasn't a big deal at the time. Nowadays, I would have made a bigger stink!

One thing about RVing is to be flexible!
