50 Amp-50 Amp Twistloc Dogbone

i have this dogbone that I no longer need. It's great for taking the strain off the connector and hooks directly to the twist lock power cord supplied with your Monty. See the Amazon ad for full details. It's the Camco 55572. Asking $30 including shipping.

I bought a similar one however it did not line up for the cord to hang straight down. Does this one connect properly to hang straight down?

Yet another problem which has been solved numerous times in the past. Do a "Search" using the keywords "Camco 55572" (be sure to check the "Archived Posts" box) and you will receive the answer with pictures.

Basically Montana installs the 50 Amp plug with the silver ground plate in the 12:00 o'clock position. Camco's plugs have the corresponding ground plate at the industry standard location of 8:00 o'clock. All you have to do is rotate the receptacle on the Montana 1/3 of a turn counter-clockwise.

The detailed instructions are in this posting.

Each page is informative but the instructions and pictures on page 5 will show how easy the change is.

I have this item on my Mountaineer. It hangs straight down with no changes. However, for some reason it is difficult to insert on some days.

I've used one of these for several years and they work as described. No stress on the receptacle.
