Domestic thermostat just shut down

Have been running ac for a couple of days. Tonight pushed inside temp button and screen went blank and ac shut down. Thermostat does not respond to any buttons. I looked up reset and held down zone and mode at same time but nothing happened. An ideas?

Never mind

So it just came back on? I was searching forums and went outside to get a fuse for the 15 amp marked ac and it started back up. Thermostat screen looks normal but wife said don’t touch anything 😀😀. I agreed!

It probably has a timed delay so it doesn’t try to start while the compressor is has pressure on it.

I’d have to be checking the wire connections to the thermostat. Sounds like DC power wire to thermostat is loose ... if not the only other issue that would cause loss of display is intermittent beak on circuit board of thermostat. Cycling of AC compressor or delay start due to head pressure not going to cause display t9 totally turn off

I agree, you have a loose wire, probably right behind the thermostat or a circut board issue.

It’s the thermostat. Ours shuts off all the time. Will be replacing before summer.

If it’s the dometic CT thermostat then it’s probably the foam used inside the thermostat cover plate specifically inside the touch switches. I have 3 thermostats one for each AC unit. Called dometic and described my problem and they replaced all the cover plates with a newer version. Known problem that dometic addressed with a new version. No further problems. By the way no cost to me.

It would be best if you would add a signature block that includes year & model of your Montana then other members would know better how to help you. I have had 3 different Montanas since 2008 and all 3 had a different type thermostat but all 3 were Dometic.

Thanks. I have intermittent issues with our main thermostat. I will be calling Dometic.
