B&W Companion Hitch Pivot Arm Setting

Got the OEM B&W Companion 3600 hitch today. Went to install and there are 12 optional positions for the pivot arm. The instructions mention that trial and error might be needed to get the trailer level. Has anyone used this hitch with a Montana 3791RD or equivalent and a new Ram 3500 dully 4x4 with the air suspension? Trying to save some trial and error here.

I have a Ram 3500 short bed 4X4 but the heights are probably similar. I have mine on the medium height (one hole from the bottom) with the tilt so that the pin is farthest from the cab (short bed). I do have a slider which does come in handy for those tight turns in some parks. I suspect you can put the tilt the other way with a dully. By the way, you are going to like the OEM puck system. It is easy to remove and reinstall.

I have the BW companion in my 2016 3500 (ram) LB , CC, Drw. its set at the lowest position with hitch forward. with no air(5lb) I'm just a bit nose high. when I put 20 lbs air in my bags it raises it another inch or so. I still have one set of holes on the pin box to lower my trailer if I want to. we haul 2016, 3720RL have about 6,000 miles on it this year and no issues yet. still thinking about lowering the trailer pin box though. we always unhook at night though.

Have similar to Loveless except 2017 Ram 3500. Have mine lined up over the axle and in the lowest position. Sits level and no problems at all. Just be sure to retorque all the bolts after your test run.

Got it installed today. Lowest and closest to cab (2" ahead of axle). Will hook up at dealer for first time tomorrow. I've read a number of threads saying 5r runs nose high. Plan on having MORryde do mods later. They said they can adjust ride height when doing IS and disc brakes.

Masterdrago,
My RVK3600 is set at the same as yours. Works great with my truck and RV. Might be 1 inch nose high but functions flawlessly. You'll be glad you invested in the B&W.

Ok - This is my first RV, I was recommended the B&W Companion in my 2017 2500 RAM short bed with auto air level. Have only used the slide feature once, more to try it than anything. CORattler, you mentioned it is a good investment, could you enlighten me as why it is better than others?

Thank you in advance.

I have the same question, but for the Ford F-350 dually and a Montana 3950BR. Does anyone have this combo and, if so, what settings worked for you?

Thanks!

Ken W.
