Oh my, lost nearly half a computer ???

I’m using what feels like half a computer. Let me explain, I have two video cards and two monitors. Once I got used to having both of them and the versatility of two screens, I couldn’t imagine being without one of them. Now I’m back to only one monitor until I can get it fixed. Wow what a difference after being used to two screens. It literally feels like I lost the use of half of the computer. Anyone else using a set up like this may understand what I mean.

A look at the good side is that I can still get on the MOC!!!!!

Why wife runs two 22" widescreen panels on her desktop PC. Don't think I could convince her to go back to one screen. Many motherboards these days come with DVI, VGA and sometimes HDMI too, depending on the board you can often just plug in two screens (say to the DVI and VGA) and run two screens without having to have two video cards. Panels are pretty cheap these days...

I know one guy in work that has one panel in landscape orientation and the other in portrait orientation. He likes reading web pages in portrait mode...
Gotta love Win7.

Up-date: Had it repaired and everything is back to normal now. Sure is good to have both monitors working again. You wouldn’t miss one if you haven’t ever used two of them.

That is a very nice, and useful, feature. I have used it several times in the past. Now I'm on the 24" iMac and I don't have the dual screen. I'm seriously thinking of adding the function.

I'm back to the laptop again with one screen, much slower and trying to put up with the curser jumping around when typing. Someone told me that it might be where I rest my hands on the bottom of the laptop causing the curser to relocate. I actually never thought of that but I think they are on to something. I'm trying very hard to keep my hands up off of the surface of the laptop and I believe it’s helping a lot. Why didn't I think of that?

Anyway, I lost the hard drive in the main computer and it's going to be a few days so I have this set up using one of my regular monitors and for the most part it's almost back to normal. Be glad when I get it fixed though and I can start junking up the new hard drive again!

Me being the guy who is always taking computers apart I need the desk space, 'real' desk space, more than the other desk space.

Many add on cards support 2 monitors and most higher end motherboards support 2 or 3 cards, but you'd need a monster power supply to feed them all.

Imagine it, 6 24" screens..........................
