Trip up the east coast from Louisiana in Spring

We are planning a trip from our home in LA up to Maine this spring. We have family to visit in Camp LeJeune and the Shenandoah Mtns of Virginia. We plan on going all the way to Maine. If any of you have suggestions as to good places to camp in our Montana 345RL please give them. We want to travel no more than 6 -7 hours every other day except for the places we stay longer to visit familY. That will give us time to enjoy the areas that we camp. Any suggestions and specific campsite numbers will be welcome!

The Marine base has a nice campground on base on the water. If your friends/ family are military they may be able to sponsor you.
