Need Suggestion for a problem

We just arrived in Bisbee, AZ a couple of hrs ago in or 2008 Montana 2955 which had been stored at out home in Gilbert AZ. We hooked up to electrical and water (first time since June of last year). Wife attempted to turn on bathroom faucet and nothing happened but it sounded like water running behind the shower. Looking behind the sliding door, you can see where water splashed against the wall.

There is water leaking onto the ground from the underbelly (has since stopped). It's after 5:00 pm on Sat and all RV places are closed in this area.

There is only a few drops of water in the storage area -- it appears to have gone directly into the underbelly!

Help! Is there anyway I can see into the underbelly? Don't have any idea how much water is under there. I hate to wait til Monday when RV places are open.

If you have an idea on how to resolve this problem, please call Win at 480-3332-3169

Are all the flush and fill valves in the correct position for camping?
Did you forget to reposition a valve that was left open during winterizing?
Almost sounds like a defective flush check valve. Hopefully more knowledgeable members will reply.

I am the guy that called. AFAIK there are only two things behind the shower. The water line for the black tank flush system (it goes up to an anti-siphon valve and then down to the black tank) and the lines to the shower mixer valve.

My first inclination was the water was hooked to the flush system. But you say it isn't. Then I have to think the shower valve is involved. There is an access panel in the pantry on the kitchen side (remember to close the sliding door) that may give a view of what is going on. I doubt you can access the valve from the pantry without opening another hole. But you should be able to remove the shower valve from the shower side. Hopefully this will help find what is leaking.

Carl, thanks so much! Of course, you were absolutely right! We were talking with friends while hooking up (first trip out since last June). And I just "spaced it" and hooked up to flush connection without thinking! But it's just kind of beyond me , of course, to make a stupid mistake like that! After all, I'm a retired Marine and have been RVing for 25 years! And leaving the sliding door closed is another matter entirely, so we just won't go there!

Thanks so much for your help and patience with me last night!

Win

WinAnne,
Been there and done that. Flushed the black tank and forgot to move the hose back to the city connection. Had no water pressure so I went out and found it was turned off and turned on the water flow. Came back in and still had no water pressure. I was getting ready to be away for 10 hours and said to my self I would check it when I get back. For some reason I changed my mind and walked out side to find I still had water flowing into the black tank instead of the city connection. I am sure glad I changed my mine.
Also a retired Marine.
Semper Fidelis.

I am glad I was able to help. Don't forget you still have to replace the Black Tank Anti-Siphon valve before flushing the tank. Otherwise you will have water coming out once again.

You can do a Search here on the MOC and find numerous postings about the anti-siphon valve. Montana uses a cheap (if $20 is cheap) plastic one, there is a brass one for more $$, or some folks just connect the lines together and forget about the valve. Your choice.

Nah, you need an old Navy Engineman to look out for you. After all, we are used to water, pipes, and valves, etc!
However, that said, I have lots of friends in the Army (Army Strong) and own a "deuce and a half" to boot.

I've also done that and after many years of camping too. I think it was the first trip in our 2007 when it happened. If that ever happens again make certain that you don’t forget about it or you might have some unpleasant things happen on the roof. Once the black tank fills up liquid goes the path of least resistance and that wouldn't be very pretty coming out the roof vents.

I'd be surprised if most of us haven't done that at one time or another. Me, I was lucky and realized what I'd done right away.

The one sure way to ensure you never connect to the wrong fitting is to use a quick disconnect on the fresh water connection. My white hoses and the fresh water fitting in the convenience center all utilize quick disconnects. Not only does it simply setups, the fittings don't leak and you can't connect the fresh water to the black tank flush.

I have a gray hose for the black tank flush with standard fittings. If it leaks at the fitting I don't care since the anti-siphon valve dumps water when you disconnect regardless.
