Training Classes

In 2000 when we first got a motorhome attended "Life on Wheels" at the University of Idaho. It was excellent. When we moved to 2009 Montana we were looking for something similar. We attended the Good Sam Rally in Redmond Oregon last year and were disappointed in the workshops (most were info commercials).

I am primarily looking for good workshops on care and repair of my 5th wheel. Anyone know of a good place for such training?

Thanks

There is nothing better than learning all about your Montana by going to a rally. Quartzsite in January is a very laid back rally that you can have a lot of time learning all about repair and care of your Montana.

You're in the right place for information right here on this forum. A great place to learn and get even more (and sometimes hands on) info is at the MOC Fall Rally in Goshen, Indiana. There are lots of well informed and helpful Montana owners as well as several component and vendor representatives. Sign up for the rally if you can and be an active part of the MOC forum. Welcome.

The best and most accurate info will be from Montana owners on this forum. Plain and simple.

This is the place to get Montana specific information and if this type of format works for you that's all you'll need. If teachers and class discussions are what you need to get started (worked for Joyce and I) then you want to go to an Escapee Boot Camp. You'll find retired tire engineers and RV techs along with many other knowledgable instructors. Escapee's are similar to Good Sam without as much commercial interest.

I would also recommend a couple good books or DVDs on repair and maintenance. That way you can go back and review it, whereas with a workshop, you're likely to forget a good deal of the information. I have no interest financially or otherwise, but I found that Mark Polk's videos were helpful to me - RV Education 101 Series with a lot of various topics. Then there' the RV doctor - Gary Bunzer and his materials.

http://rvbookstore.com/

has a great selection of books on repair and maintenance.
