Hello

Hello,

We just purchased a 318BHS and will take delivery of it February 21,2005. We have a 2004 2500 HD 6L 4x4 short box. This is our first attempt at this and we are looking for any helpful info we can get.

Congratulations on your new rig and Feb 21st will be here before you know it.
Just a suggestion regarding taking delivery of your new Mountaineer. The following link is to a PDI (PreDelivery Inspection). Copy this list and have it with you on the 21st. Prior to signing any further documents finalizing the deal do a complete inspection. This way you can be sure your new rig will be in the condition you expect it to be when you sign the final papers. It wouldn't hurt to have 2 copies. Give one to the dealers representative so he knows what you will be looking for. Be suspicious if they should try to talk you out of the inspection.

PDI Checklist

Something I just recently learned about the Search feature. If you don't find what you're looking for, try the search again but check the box for 'archived ...' (forgot how it's worded). Many posts were archived to save space and won't show up in a search if you don't check this box. I'm not sure if checking the box makes the search look only in the archives or not.

Welcome to the MOC Forum. Congratulations on your new rig. This is like a new toy. Learning all about it is half the fun. The folks that post here are pretty good at problem solving.

Somebody said that a smart man can solve his difficulties, but a wise man learns how others solved theirs. Hoping you have the best of adventures.

Welcome aboard wschexnaydre! Congratulations on the new Montana. I know it's discouraging to find some problems in a brand new coach but at least these sound like relatively minor things. Not so minor when you need them but in the overall scheme of things. Your dealer should be able to take care of these things for you. If you need any help on these or anything else, let us know and we'll all try to help. I don't think I've ever heard of any new RV being totally fault free coming out of the factory. You'd sure think they could be but they're not. We're on our fourth and had some things like you found on all of them, at least the three that we bought new. From the things you found wrong it sounds like your dealer didn't do a thorough walkthru/test of everything with you. Hopefully they'll be better at fixing them now.
