Is playing music--Working???

We were going to check into work-camping when we got the Monty. All of a sudden we got a phone call from Alice Springs RV Park and Resort in Ionia, Michigan and all our plans changed. They have had weekend country jams since opening, and the couple who ran them before moved out of state. The park is very beautiful, as some MOC members have mentioned, and is 18 miles from home. So we host the jams for 2-3 hours every Saturday in lieu of parking rates and electric, and are there about 75% of the time in the summer. We love it and are sorta ashamed to say we actually "work camp" its more like we "play camp". Hope to see some of you thru the summer, and especially for the Great Lakes Rally in August. Happy Trails.

We're going to try to make it just before the fall Rally. As far as we concern, we don't take a work camping job unless it's a bunch of fun. We don't need a job so it has to be something we really want to do. Sounds like you found you're ideal gig.

Being renumerated for doing something you enjoy doing is a "WIN-WIN" situation every time- We workkamp and are paid in waived camping fees and/or actual cash- We also would not take on any position if we did not enjoy the situation- Bottom line- Smile and enjoy your good fortune- JMHO- Don
