With everything digital now days, there is no reason a seller can't take tons of pictures of both outside and inside for you to look at before driving a long distance to be disappointed.

I would stay away from this unit. I had a 5’er and it developed a small leak which we repaired. Never could get rid of the mold smell after cleaning everything 3 times. Eventually the mold one out and we traded
Why take on a headache if you don’t need to

FYI, we just sold our 35’ 2009 Monty anniversary edition, loaded, through PPL in Texas. $15,999. Everything was in excellent condition. Good used units under 20K are out there. As someone else suggested, try Texas or Arizona. Good luck!

We bought our first 5er at a dealer. We happened to be there the day it was traded in and got it for the trade in price. Talked to the previous owner who actually showed it to me and told me the trade price. I think the dealer was just happy to move it out so fast. It was only one year old and the excellent condition. We traded it in four years later for our Monty and got nearly the price we paid in trade.
I know it's hard to be patient when you want that RV, but it pays off in the end.

Sounds like you made the best decision. The possible presence of mold should be an absolute no go for sure.
Then on top of that the stabilizer jacks held up with bungee cords indicates this guy didn't have the ambition to do any maintenance as required. Just imagine all the hidden things to be uncovered.

Or the other things he has broken and didn't tell you about...
