We are rolling!
Just bought my first fifth wheel and you could probably guess since I’m posting here that it’s a montana. It seems to be made fairly well compared to some I have toured and examined.
I went from a tent to this so quite a shock.
Some sphincter muscles do not fully relax while towing.
I’m sure I will be posting some questions as I test all of the equipment soon and hopefully not dump my black water in the backyard.

Suggestion for you- Add info on your model and tow vehicle to your signature (or where ever it is located)
Also, as to a newbie, go to a LARGE parking lot (empty) and practice turning so you get used to pulling into driveways,etc. It took me a year before I mostly stopped running over curbs on corners. And if you get brave, practice backing into a parking spot. I try to avoid backins, but sometimes you have no choice.

Towing will become a piece of cake for you. Remember to execute wide turns, and practice backing up. I felt the same way with the first rig I towed.

Thanks for the replies, y’all. I have done a good bit of towing and backing in the past and grew up in a family where pulling an airstream was part of life. But this magnitude of hauling is another level!! I am going to remove the existing truckbox I have as it is a little close for comfort at times.

Welcome and have faith..pretty quick you will be doing things automatically , but it seems we all have some kind of hiccup along the way ..it comes with the deal...just roll with the flow and enjoy.

Welcome from another who made the big jump from tent to 5ver. Practice and patience are the key to towing and parking the rig. Work on communication with your spotter when parking - use your cell phones to talk to each other vs just hand signals
