Our First Fifth Wheel

Hello Everyone,

We took delivery of our first fifth wheel a couple of weeks ago. Thank you for those who share information on this site. It allowed us to find a few items in the PDI. Our dealer Town & Country in Clyde OH was great in addressing the issues. We took it on our first shakedown last weekend and everything has went smooth so far.

Geoff and Renae-- Congrats is in order and glad you had a good PDI and first shakedown cruise. I do have one question for you-- What tires came on your new unit? It they are Trailer Kings or anything but Goodyear or Sailun head directly to a tire shop and get those off before you loose one from a blow out and suffer damage to the wheel well as well as the side of your unit. There is a post here that just came on with pictures of what can happen IF you have the OEM tires on yet. Separation and or blowouts are common.

Thanks for all the welcoming messages.

Rondo,

We have Rainier ST tires by Tredit (I have never heard of them). Goodyears 614s are in the near future plans. We only are planning on trips under 200 miles per trip this year to try to have any bugs worked out (we are on #3 so far). We try to our unit inside on gravel so that should help the tires some. We have already upgraded the hitch (superglide) and pin box (morRyde) which has improved the towing experience.

We also just weighed the truck and trailer on this trip to check all the specs.
