New Montana 3900fb Owner
Thank you all for the warm welcome! My wife and I are very excited to start out in our new 3900fb. Guess we are going from a Winnie to a Monty! Searching now for our tow vehicle, settling on a 3500hd diesel Silverado Dually with a crew cab. Should be a fun experience. A little nervous, it will be the first towing I've done, (with the exception of a wagon behind the lawn tractor  . I feel like we have a lot to learn, so look out group....we will be hitting everyone up with questions! Thanks again for the nice welcomes...look forward to seeing many of you on the road!

Welcome to the MOC Tom.
parking that Monty will take you a few trail and errors but if you take your time it will go all good. FYI. if your wife has a cell phone and you do too, Blue tooth it on the truck and then call your wife while she is behind directing you into your spot you will be hands free and able to hear her directions very good that way we do it all the time for those tight spots that are a challenge.

Go to a parking lot early one Sunday morning and practice backing up and getting used to the turning radius. A hint, grab the bottom of the steering wheel while backing up and if you want the rear of the trailer to go left, move your hand left. Come and join us at the Mid-Atlantic Rally and meet a great group of folks.

Welcome to our group. Take it slow and easy and as Jim says use an empty parking lot. It's a short learning curve till you'll be comfortable.

The 3900FB has a great floor plan. Congratulations and welcome to the MOC!
If I could ever be tempted to buy a different Montana, it would be the 3900FB. If the rig has Chinese crap tires on it, get rid of them. Don't just take my word for it, spend some time reading on this site about the Goodyear ST Marathon blowouts and resulting damage.
I would suggest that you (or a qualified electrician) install an electrical management system (EMS). I installed the HW50C by Progressive Industries ( http://tweetys.com/electrical-manage...rdwire-50.aspx). Aside from reliable tires, I feel this is the most needed mod for your new RV. You have too much sensitive circuitry and electronics to gamble with unknown power sources.

Great trailer, and excellent choice on the truck getting the 3500 with the dually and diesel. I had towed before with an "adequate" tow vehicle, and I can guarantee, you did the right thing picking your truck.

Welcome to this forum! You have one of the best units on the market, today. And, if I was in the market for a new unit, the 3900 would be at the top of the list. There are 3 things I would change when we get one and that is, add a couple more shelves to the pantry, change to Good Year "G" rated tires and install the Trail Air Tri-glide pin box up front.

Thanks to everyone for your warm welcome to the MOC and full-timing. Can't wait to see and meet our new families. Charles retired 2 yrs ago and I retired January 31, 2014. We are so excited!! Just got word today that our 2014 3900fb Big Sky just arrived in Fayettville, NC. Everyone there at Camping World has been so wonderful and PATIENT!!! Thank you guys!!! We just picked up our 3900fb and brought it home today ,300 miles. Did not even know it was back there, 2014 S/B,F250 srw 6.7 diesel. Really new to all of this,have never done before and we sold the sub and going ft.
