New 340BH owner

Well not quite yet.... We ordered the 5th wheel a week ago after researching since last July. Should be delivered in the beginning of April.

We reluctantly got out of the tent about 15 years ago with a pop up which served us well until we eventually decided a 28' travel trailer was needed for our growing family. It's funny how hard I protested the pop up until the first night of not sleeping on the ground spoiled me rotten. I guess the 5th wheel is the next logical step. We live in the upper peninsula of Michigan so our camping season is short but we make the most of it normally spending 50 or so nights in it. We are very much looking forward to being able to extend our season with the better insulated 5th wheel.

Anyway I look forward to hopefully adding to the community and learning from it.

Mike

Good luck and confrats on that new rig! How do you get 50 nights in? Ive been to the paper mill in Escanaba (sp) in the dead of winter. Thought camping weather started around July 20 and ended around August 10.

All kidding aside...Congrats! Make some great memories with that new rig!

Congratulations on your upcoming new rig and welcome to the forum from sunny Eastern Washington. It looks like you pack a lot of camping into a short period which is really great. We stated with a HI-Lo camp trailer, BH fiver, bigger BH fiver, actual pick up camper and then into the Montana. I am sure you will like and enjoy it. Our first R v's were purchased with the expectations of a three day camping trip every other week with a couple of longer trips during summer vacation.

Welcome to the forum. We spent a couple of weeks camping in the UP a couple of years ago and it was magnificent. May your new rig bring you many years of wonderful memories.

Welcome and congrats on the new rig. I agree with being able to comfortably extend your camping season as we do up here in Canada.

Welcome from Colorado where it's either sunny, snowing or windy (depending on the day). Enjoy that new fifth wheel. You'll wonder how you lived without one. Best of luck and welcome to the forum.

Thank you all so much for the welcomes. Been a pretty mild winter here this year, normally we would be in the 10's through 30's below zero and camping season seems like it's a million miles away. Last weekend we were well into the 30's above zero and we lost half of the little bit of snow left. With the nice weather and knowledge that the new camper is on its way leaves me thinking about camping almost 24/7. This forum is my only outlet.
