Thoughts on a tire

Hello All,

My 2012 Ram 3500 DRW has 26k miles in it. Thinking a new set of tires. I have had a lot of recommendations for what to get, but a brand I have never heard of Is gaining my interest. Kinda like Sailen tires, they are now all the rage.

Nitto Dura Grappler. They are made by Toyo and are at a price point that makes me consider them. On the net there are several reviews, all basicly happy buyers.

Your thoughts? Thanks.

A good number of ranchers have used Toyo tires for years in rural Kansas. Hancook when not Toyo.

Toyos, Hankooks and Coopers are all fine, where are the Nitto Dura Grapplers made?

I used to run Toyo on my company truck, good tires. I'm not familiar with Nitto.

We ran a set of those on our 2001 F150 super crew. Although these were 8 ply, they have worn well, are not very noisy and looked good on the wheels we had on it. My son has this truck now and is putting a second set on soon, we got 57K out of this set. Not sure a 10 ply set on a heavier truck will do as well on miles.

A lot of guys on the duramax forum run those. All seem to be happy. I’m running Toyo AT2 on mine t/v. So far very happy.

I'm on my second set of Nitto Terra Grappler G2 tires and I've been very happy with the handling and wear. They seem to be wearing better than the Michelin's that I had been using since the truck was new. The other plus is, they are made in the USA, even though they are owned by Toyo Tire.

Just replaced the Michelins that came on the F350 with the same. Truck is nearly 18 months old and replaced the tires at 52,300. A 2500 mile trip coming up or would have waited a while.

Cooper AT3's on my 17' Ram 3500 DRW. Dumped the stock Nexen tires a couple thousand miles ago - practically wore out at 16K, down to 5/32. The AT3"s are a bit more aggressive but doesn't affect the ride at all.

This might be an option to consider if shopping price. A friend of mine is on his second set on his D/A 2500HD. He doesn't tow, but the sight states the load ratings for the tires. I happen to have a good source of new tires available to me at a very good price. If I didn't, I would consider these. I have mounted all of the tires for him and cannot see anything wrong with them. They balance up just as well as a new tire as well.

Far less than the michelins I put on my truck this week. A blemish is nothing to be concerned about. I'd still buy Michelin again. Or Cooper or Goodyear, or BFGoodrich, or Bridgestone or even the list could go on.

The only negative issue I had with Hankook ATm tires was that after 15k miles they would whine at highway speeds. Really annoying. Running Cooper AT3s now, and like them a lot. Price was good at Discount Tire.

Yep Nexen are junk just get you out the door tires! At only 7k I had to replace one as it was wearing odd. Not an alignment issue it was the tire!

I put a set of 4 Contental Terrain Contact A/T 275/65/R20 on my 2014 F 250 in April of 2017. Replaced a set of Michelins. Got a great deal at Discont tire and have been very happy with the tires to date.

new tires

I may be wrong but from what I've read on several RV sites, the Sailun tires are trailer tires not truck tires.

You are right. Trailer service only.

Sailun Tires is a company that makes commercial service truck and trailer tires. But you only want the ST tires for your trailer. don't get that mixed up.
