I got my Sailun's at National Tire and Battery. They ordered and installed. about $700 for 4 - mounted and balanced and I kept the trailer kings. My bro is using them on a utility trailer!

NTB is all across the country - not an advertisement, just had good luck there

The Sailun 235-85 X 16's are about 3/4 of an inch larger in diameter. So you loose about 3/4" between the tires - or so I found on the Monty 353 RL - Hard to find the 235-80X16 Sailun's. The slightly larger dia. was not an issue on the 5er. I have about 5 inches between them.

Never heard of anyone having that issue on a Montana. Measure between your current tires and I believe that you will find that you have more than enough room for the additional 1 inch diameter, 1/2 inch radius tire.

Thanks rmthelen! I was at tire place and he made me doubt myself. Came home, measured, a good 6 1/2" between

Looks like you are good to go Polar Bear. You won't regret spending the extra bucks for the G614's.

BTW, I have the same FW except for the residential fridge. I went with the 85 vice 80 aspect Sailuns and can't determine the tires are closer together without using a ruler.

My partner ordered hers from NTB as well. Very good prices.

Also Big O has great prices on Sailun, they are a dealer. I was quoted $635.00 out the door mounted, balanced, tax the whole works Got a price match closer to home from Tire Pro., and actual price out the door was $635.01

Could not find a better price anywhere, cheaper online, but after mounting, and balancing they were more money. I have never bought tires online, but all SimpleTire could guarantee was that a tire will be less then three years old.

Yeah I couldn't find any good deals here in Amarillo area so I'm paying more then I would at home for sure. Did some online searching and nothing seemed great. So biting the bullet and forking out the cash! At least I'll have peace of mind when I leave here.

I don't believe you have to be specific to someone running your style of camper, you will find that most of the big Montana's use the same Lippert frame with the same axle spacing. (My 3790RD has a different frame, but I don't believe the axle spacing will differ from yours). Mine measures 36" and with the 614's I have 5.5" between the tires. I accept that under certain driving conditions the wheels can move closer together, but I can't see 5.5".

The standard '80' metric tires are radially 11.75mm (0.46") smaller than the '85' Goodyears, so fitting GY's will move your tire treads less than an inch closer together.

With respect to pressure, the GY's are good for 110 psi, but you don't need to run anywhere near so high. My trailer axle weight is 12,100lb, so I have 3,025lb at each wheel. I usually run at 95psi, but from the GY load/inflation chart the recommended minimum for 3,042lb is 80 psi. (3,170 is 85, 3,300 is 90, 3,415 is 95, 3,550 is 100, 3,675 is 105 and 3,750 is 110).

You are going to lose an inch, you should have plenty of clearance. Measure what you got now. Many are running that tire or the Sailuns on your type of camper. I have run both with no clearance problems

Most 235/80/16's are 30.8 235/85/16 are 31.7 going to lose .9 inches between , close enough, lets just call it 1 inch to simplify things.

I just purchased 5 tires from Simple Tire. Great customer service AND they were the only ones that I contacted that would tell me the manufacturers codes on the tires. I needed to purchase them and Sara told me that she would "hold" the order and call the warehouse. One hour she called me back and told me that they were only 12 weeks old-SOLD!

Evidently they have changed their policy, not only would they not check on the date of the tire, they could only guarantee a tire to be less then three years old.

Kind of glad they would not give me a date code at the time, I was actually able to buy them locally cheaper, and able to look at the dates on the tires.

The last tires I bought was from Goodyear. The manager had the dates checked before he would let the warehouse send the to him. That's service!

Same as the Sailuns I bought from Tire Pro, checked dates before getting them. I thought that was pretty good service also.

I wasn't to concerned, as popular as the Sailuns are becoming , they were going to be pretty fresh tires, and they were

Look at your trailer to see how much distance is between the tire on front axle and tire oon back axle. My guess is many inches of clearance between them. Shouldn't be an issue.

I am joining this world/discussion of purchasing tires. I have looked hard at purchasing the G614's. However a friend recommends the Maxxis ST235/80R16. Browsing the web, I can't seem to find very many negative reviews. Wanted to reach out to the forum members. Thanks in advance.

I have to ask why go an E rated tire or G614 when the Sailuns are available .The last tire I would get would be ANY E rated ST tire , assuming its the heavier Montana Fifth Wheel.

If a lighter fifth wheel I would still stay away from an E rated ST tire, and go with a quality LT tire, if the weight rating of the tire will match the rating needed for the fifth wheel

IMO the Sailun S637 is the best G rated tire on the market ,not only in performance , but value.

Again IMO why would anybody pay at least double for a Goodyear G614 over the Sailun S637. The goodyear is arguably an inferior tire to the Sailun, reviews will tell the story .

Thanks. I have done little reasearch on the Sailun but seen it comes recommend throughout this forum. I have also seen the mixed reviews on LT vs ST. A couple tire guys I have spoken with say not to place LT on my rig. Yes it is considered a heavy fifth wheel.
