Hostetler's Hudson Auto Museum updated attendees

Bump Bump, bum pity, bump! BUMP!

Hello! Bob and I have taken on organizing the Hostetler's Hudson Auto Museum in Shipshewana, Indiana. The rally has a very tight schedule I am told and about the only time we can see that would be available to go as a group is on Tuesday. (Which is good because they are only open from Tuesday thru Saturday!). Their opening time is 10 AM - 4:30.

The group rate fee is $6 for 12 or more. Otherwise it is $7 for seniors.

The following is a review I copied from TripAdvisor about the museum...

"Review From Trip advisor for The Hudson Museum. “WOW!!!!!” Reviewed November 24, 2012

I grew up in the area and return about a half dozen times a year but never visited the museum until Thanksgiving weekend this year. I am so glad I finally made it. I was amazed one family (Eldon and Esta Hostetler) could accumulate such an incredible collection by themselves.

Each car has an informative sign in front of it which tells information about the car in general and how it came to be in the collection. The first time I saw a description along the lines of "The last car of this type known to exist . . ." I just assumed I was looking at the star of the show. As I continued through the museum, I discovered there were quite a few extremely rare cars! The Hostetler's obviously picked their cars very carefully.

One thing I really liked about the museum is that they trust visitors enough to let them get up close to the cars. I appreciated the ability to see the fine detail that would otherwise be overlooked.

Admission is free for 5 and under, $4 for students (6-17), $8 for adults and $7 for seniors or those with AAA. Personally, I think this is a bargain for such an incredible collection.

My Dad and I spent about three hours looking at every single car but others could probably do it in less. My Dad moves a bit slow but plenty of benches are available if you need to rest.

The entire collection is on the first floor so no climbing of stairs is necessary.

Bill and I are at the Fairgrounds and we had the 6 point levelers installed today. We had an 8 hour wait so decided to go to the museum today. We were there most of the day. It was very enjoyable and well worth the admission price. Please remove us from the list. We will return again it was so good, but not this soon.

UPDATED 9-24

We will be meeting and leaving from the road by the Big Tent. There really is no need to double up riding together unless you wish to.

The hours are 10-5. So we will leave here 9:15 at the Big tent. Bob and I are in site 450 right by the Bog Tent so we can meet or check in there if you have a change of plans.

We had to miss the tour, waiting for Lippert rep to come by and repair my hydraulic system. I don't think I will get very far tomorrow with all my slides out and my jacks down
