Shaw Satellite mobility

We are Canadian and are switching to Shaw satellite. Has anyone out there with Shaw used it from their rv in Mexico? Also, since the receiver is 18 volts is there a 12 volt to 18 volt device so that l can hook up the receiver to the trailer wiring so that it doesn't have to be reset with every disconnect from 120 AC.?

I use Shaw for the winter in Quartzsite with no issues with reception. The only issue is that you won't get the Anik G1 satellite that was launched in 2013. This doesn't affect us at all because the channels are still on the two older satellites.

I always turn off the power to my receiver which in turn sends power to the dish. When I turn the power back on all my channels are instantly back. However it does take a little bit of time to get the guide back which I don't find to be any big deal.

I haven't personally used Shaw in Mexico but I know from friends that do and they have no problems.

We used a Shaw satellite dish and receiver in El Centro California, about 6 mile from the Mexican border in February with no issues. Judging from the number of Shaw dishes on other RV's at Rio Bend Golf Resort, there does not appear to be a problem. Our receiver is 110 volt so no comment on the other question. I trust that you are aware that you are not "allowed" to receive Canadian satellite signal outside Canada. If you have to call Shaw with any "issues" you may have to fib a little about where you are. I suggested that I was in Nanaimo, BC, with no feedback from tech support....

FYI The shaw the receiver's Work on 12 volts, the 18 volts you are seeing is the MAX voltage they can handle.
I have a friend that Lives Permanently in Mexico near Mallaikee and he revives Shaw there. But DO NOT CALL SHAW if you have a problem while south of the USA Border as shaw will cut you off, There is an agreement between the CRTC. and the FCC.
If you Google CRTC Broadcast regulations you will find it there.
Good luck.
