You Snowbirds
Are so lucky right now!!
Here in Elkhart and across Northern IN/Southern MI, we've gotten up to a foot of fresh snow. And that has been since just yesterday morning!
Trying to get up the gonads to go out and clean some of it off!
Will spring ever get here?

Wind chills down around 0 (from the telie forecasters this AM, so that is probably right.)

It has been chilly here in Florida this winter due to the cold air you guys have been sending down. It was in the 40's last night and may only hit the low 70's today. There was ICE on the Honda windshield a couple of mornings ago..

We put the plow back on the truck so we can make a path for the camper to leave the barn. Florida here we come (Friday), hope March is a warm, sunny month. We are heading to the Lakeland area for the month. We've had enough of the white stuff!!

We even had one of our palm trees freeze but the only thing we will use our shovel for is putting in a new one.

You snowbirds - even w/40's and 50's are lucky. However - we just got back from three weeks in the south--South Beach for one of those (70's and 80's) and can I say absolutely wonderful!!! One week on a cruise (w/80's in the norms) and then on to NC with it dipping into the 60's -- and that was still good! Our 10th grandchild was born at Fort Bragg on the 22nd of Feb so we endured the 60 degree weather there without even noticing it. We have decided though that after Thanksgiving 2009 we ARE taking the Montana down to Florida for the winter. Enough of this cold, cold, and colder weather. We just got in the house after our 3 weeks away and burrrrrr - this is miserable!!! By the way we seen LOTS of Montana's going to and fro in Florida. What a wonderful site!!!! Cyndie

Well, here it is. A week later, we had a warm up for a couple days and now the snow is gone. Below freezing for today and tomorrow, but then thru next week, it is suppose to warm up into the low 40's.
Anyway, camping starts at Twin Mills in 6 weeks. Starting to get stuff around for the couple of projects I want to do before I dewinterize the coach. Such as put in a new stainless steel galley sink for Mrs. "B".

Just got back from Ohio and the ice and snow back there three weeks ago and it is now 10 degrees here in Omaha and we have about 4-6 inches of the pretty white stuff all over! What happened to the 60-70's we had earlier this week! As they say here in Nebraska--" If you don't like the weather just wait a day or two and it will change!!"

Dale, lucky you, it ALL melted??
We have had some snow, piles or drifts, but, still snow, in the yard since about Turkey Day.
I do not remember, ever, having this much snow, this long.

Carol, that's what I have been hearing.
I was talking yesterday to one of our dealers up in Petosky. He said that he can't remember when the last time was he saw bare ground. He thought it was around the first part of November.
So, I guess that would make sense. He is further north than you and you ar further north than me.
I'd give anything for 65 to 70 degree weather right now.

Dale,
I am guessing you are within 25 miles (south)of the southern border of Michigan??
I am about 30 miles north of the southern border of Michigan
Add em up, that is about 55 to 60 miles difference, tain't a lot.
Must be enough tho, eh??
Now, there is not a lot of white frozen ice/snow on my lot, but, Thursday we were in Ann Arbor, and the parking lot mountains of snow and yucky ice/black stuff, gross stuff, were probably close to 20 feet tall. Al and I are guessing it could take till May ???? 2009 for those monster ski hills to melt.
