Adding a new window
I have a 2010 3150RL. The one thing that dives me nuts is the tiny closet for the toilet. Has anyone added a window in this room? I'm thinking about it but wonder if it's wise structurally.

I have wondered the same thing seeing i would like another window in the kitchen slide. I would think you would have to make sure where the studs or wall framing are and if its structural along with any possible wires embedded. if the wall studs could be cut i would think it would be OK, but i would ask keystone before proceeding.

I would doubt the post is still in the archive, but a member named OZZ did this a number of years ago. He waited till a cool morning with a lot of dew and then went outside and the wall studs all had more moisture on them. He marked them, cut his hole and installed the window. Keystone tends to run the electric down the studs so he gave them plenty of room assuming my memory is correct. The post did have pictures if you can find it. OZZ almost never posts anymore, but you may still be able to contact him. My guess is that Keystone will freak if you ask them.

Adding a window to the bath is easy. Member Nailbender installed 4 of them in different rigs and I watched/assisted several times. We did one while in a campground in Oregon. You do want to ensure there are no studs in the area you plan put the window. A dewy morning or a stud finder (use it on the inside wall) will show where they are. Once you make the first cut it gets less painful to complete the hole.
The Topic you want to read is This One A link to Ozz's Photobucket pictures are there and still work (amazing). Also Nailbender provided a description of his process.
One post identifies various source of windows if you don't have one already.

Another way to find your studs is to drill small holes about 1/16 diameter inch through the inside wall there you think your window would go. Drill them about an inch apart until you find the studs. Drill in a place that won't be notable and if you decide you can't put the window where you wont it project over.

I'd guess some sit in the "magic room" longer than others. Don't think I've ever been in there long enough to stress over lack of a portal.

Reply from Montana about adding a window.
Good Morning Mr. Heath,
Thank you for contacting Keystone RV. Keystone would not recommend any modification of this type but if you want to know if it is possible, I would recommend contacting a local dealer to get an assessment of the situation and see if it is possible. If you have additional questions, let me know. Have a great day!
Thank you,

This is exactly what I would think Keystone would recommend. They are not going to tell you to modify your camper like that. If something goes wrong it's their fault.

Ya - Keystone is extremely unuseful - especially this Jenks person - ask 3 questions, one is dodged and the other two ignored ...
