Blue Ox Bedsaver & Hensley BD3??

I tried to install but the Blue Ox rails are much wider than the Hensley Trailersaver BD3 hitch. See pic.

Anyone have this combo installed? I have submitted pics to Blue Ox but haven't heard back from them in two weeks. Have reached out to them again.

Had the same problem with Blue Ox, even on site they couldn't get the right setup for me. Finally went with Butch's.

Chris-- Where did you get buy your Blue Ox? I would contact customer service at Blue Ox and see if you got the correct model. They make numerous models to fit different models and brands of hitches. If you would like the phone number for Blue Ox let me know. They are made here in Nebraska and I have had personal contact with them on several occasions. If I can be of help let me know via email or PM!

Purchased via Amazon. One reviewer noted it worked with the BD3.
Ordered the Blue Ox BXR5001.

I just measured my Blue Ox.

OD is 19 1/2' near the end of the catch.
ID right at the Bedsaver was 18 5/8'

Mine fits perfect.

I can take better pics if you think that would help.

I am beginning to think they sent you the wrong one.

BTW, I ordered mine from Amazon. There are only 2 reviews. One is mine, and used the user name of "Darnell"

leemedic,

I can't thank you enough for going to the trouble of taking those measurements! That is a HUGE help!

The OD of my Bedsaver is 19" (maybe 1/16 less). That 3/8 of a inch is the difference! When I installed the Bedsaver rails, the ID between the rails was 18 3/8" as well. It's clear the Bedsaver cross member is the wrong one. What's odd is that I sent Blue Ox pics that clearly showed this and it's been two weeks and they haven't gotten back to me. I followed up with them 2-3 days after sending the pics in and the customer service person I dealt with said I needed to wait until he heard back from their engineers.

I'll be on the phone with Blue Ox in a few minutes to see if they can help! Am picking up our first Montana (and first 5er) on Friday and don't want to join the $4,500 club because of making a novice mistake.

Chris,

I know the problem. Check your private messages. Call me.

I will tell you what I found when I installed.
