Like Tom said if you can find a 2006-07 LBZ Duramax JUMP on it, best Duramax in most peoples opinion ,I have a 2003 LB7 Duramax although it has been great (NO EMMISSIONS)it does just not have quite enough power even with a Banks Tuner

I see you live out East. If you never drove west of the Rockies in the summer time, you would not have an overheating problem!!

2nd D/A for me. My current truck is the first year with the DPF. I haven't had any problems related to this. My previous was the '04.5 LLY which was supposed to have overheating issues. I never had any problem there, either. From what I've read and heard over the years, the Duramax/Allison combo is about as good as it gets. But, like Tom, I don't have any good info on Ford or Dodge.

Simply stating my personal experience with this truck. I'm aware that there were some overheating problems with SOME of the LLY's.

The Ram 6.7 with a 6 speed Would be a 07.5 or up. Has the best exhaust brake.

Only a Ford with a 6.7 which would be a '11 or up. Pass on a 6.0 or 6.4L Ford.

GM, those with them like them, there were some issued with injectors and overheating in early years. From 06 on were decent trucks.

Happy with my '12 Ram
