Removed sewer boom already!

The new 2010 models now have the sewer boom that you cannot use the extra valve or the clear elbow. To install the extra valve, I had to remove the whole mechanism and leave it in the garage at home. I also discovered there is no storage in the boom except for 10 feet of hose, no elbows, no connectors, sewer donut. There is no outside storage compartment for the excess hose so I will have to cut and install one.
Now the real question, how has anyone else rectified that problem?

The area for "sewer hose storage" on my Monty left a lot to be desired. So I added a storage area to the frame by the sewer hookup. Holds all my stuff 20' of hose, clear elbow, 90 elbow for end of hose and the donut seal. click on the link in my signature and go to mods.

Phil, you know me. I've already put a shelf in the front compartment and have a cabinet for the bathroom. I'm going to take that coat hanger from the bathroom and move it beside the tv in the bedroom. Also, since I'm filling in for a guy at the dealership this and next week, I haven't had time to look where I'll install the Hughes yet!
Or under the fridge, or---------

Steve,
The sewer boom is a great idea but is too short to be practical for the length of sewer hose most people use. What I did to resolve the issue for myself was to remove the "short" sewer boom that came with our new 3455 and replaced it with a Valterra 46" storage tube (got the idea from one of KT Maniac's posts). I just cut off one end and slipped it into place with the flexible hose over the cut off end. I thought the white color of the storage tube would bother me but I think it looks better than the black one did. I have a 20' super heavy duty hose installed and the carrier takes it all. I don't use the clear elbow so I can't help you there. I use a Tupperware container to store the piece that goes from the end of the hose into the hookup in the ground. If you would like some photos, let me know and I will post some. Hope this helps.

OBTW Steve, I would like to see some photos of the shelf you put in the front compartment.....I have been thinking about the best way to do that. Thanks in advance
Jack

Steve,
I have done the same as Jack. The 46" pipe cost me about $25 @ CW. You have to cut the one end off. It takes only a few minutes to replace. I use the new Rhino hose that has a translucent elbow at the sewer end. Not as visable as the clear elbow but IMHO, the trade off is worth while. Using the boom is a big improvement as the hose is always connected.

I'm glad to see there is some different solutions to the hose storage.
I've decided to cut(Oh NO) the skirting just below the water heater and install a door there and use it for the extra hose.
If you keep the boom and a 10 foot hose connected, how do you take the end cap off without getting splashed from the drainage seeping down the pipes? Know, I know the pipes are supposed to be empty, but I also know it still seeps. With the boom attached, I cannot use the extra valve that I have gotten very used to using to eliminate the splash.

It's off topic but, Steve where did you find the cabinet to go into the bathroom? Is it in the "Hickory" finish to match?

Thanks for asking Steve, we are trying to figure out what to do with ours too. We will not take off the extra shut off valves either. We also have the black and grey full body paint that we would like to match if possible.

Bill wanted to put shelves in the front but Keystone put a generator prep in. We didn't buy the generator because we carry the Honda 2000 in our truck. When we get someplace and stop for awhile, he will have to remove the molding and metal box before he can add shelves and hooks like we had in the 3475RL. He really misses them.

We'll keep watching for ideas.
