Appolo door latch
Helen says this issue has been on the forum numorus times but she can not find it when I need it. Tonight I was doing popcorn and when I tried to open the door to get my popcorn out the latch broke. Anyone have an idea how I can get the door open? More importantly how can I get my popcorn?

Bill and Helen,
I have fixed the latch on my Apollo oven, twice. It has been fixed now for about 2 years. It is just to darned hard to describe in written words, but give me a call anytime...we're pretty busy here at Q..and I would be happy to give you the steps to fixing the latch. It is pretty simple, but you have to know a couple of things.

I sent you my cell number.

Thanks for the offer Robbie. I did get it apart and found a piece broken off of the part that the push button goes into. You are right. It is complicated to explain. We have a new one on the way already.
I did get my popcorn out today but it was pretty cold. Say hi to everyone at Q for us.

I have the same problem as Bill and Helen. The latch on my Apollo broke last night. How did you get into the latch system. Other than this problem the oven has been great. How good is the Apollo? If I am unable to repair this one, should I buy another Apollo?

I removed the micro from the cabinet and I started removing screws that would allow me to remove the cover. It seems that every thing has to be removed to allow for the cover to be removed. There are two screws that are not Philip's screws but are torque screws. Some of the screws are hidden and are hard to find but they will have to be removed to get the cover off. It is not an easy task but once the cover is off you will see the push button/lever system. I called 800-772-7262 and talked to Laura to get the replacement part. Once the door is open you can find the model number.
We live full time in our Montana and have used the Apollo daily so we think that after 4 years it is well worth fixing.
